Privacy Policy
Effective 29 July 2026. This site is a pre-launch page for Screen My Orders, a sanctions-screening plugin for WooCommerce that is currently in development. We collect as little as possible, and here is exactly what that is.
What we collect
- Email address — only if you submit one of the signup forms. We also record which form you used (for example the homepage or the pre-order page) and the time of signup.
- Demo checker queries — the name you type into the demo checker is sent to our server so it can be matched against public government sanctions lists (the US Consolidated Screening List API operated by trade.gov). Queries may appear in short-lived server logs.
- IP address — used transiently to rate-limit the demo checker so it stays free. IP-based counters expire automatically within 24 hours.
- Anonymous usage analytics — page views and button clicks, collected without cookies and without identifying you (Vercel Web Analytics). We cannot see who you are from this data.
What we use it for
- To email you about the beta, early access and the founding price — that is the only reason we ask for your address.
- To understand whether this product is worth building (aggregate counts of visits, signups and pre-order clicks).
What we never do
- We do not sell, rent or share your email address with anyone.
- We do not run advertising or tracking cookies on this site.
- We do not use your data to train any model.
Where it is stored
Signups are stored on our hosting provider's infrastructure (Vercel) and, if configured, in a managed database (Upstash). Demo checker queries are processed by the official US government screening API (trade.gov) to produce the result you see.
How long we keep it
Signup emails are kept until the product launches or until you ask us to delete yours, whichever comes first. Every email we send includes a way to unsubscribe.
Your rights
You can ask at any time what data we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Write to hello@screenmyorders.com and we will respond within 30 days. If you are in the EU or UK, you also have the rights granted by the GDPR / UK GDPR, including the right to lodge a complaint with your supervisory authority.
Changes
If this policy changes before launch, the new version will be posted on this page with a new effective date. The launched product will ship with its own, fuller privacy policy and a data processing agreement for merchants.
